Education at Kaipatiki
Environment Centre
Environmental education is an
integral part of the Kaipatiki Project's work.
Kaipatiki offers a range of high quality adult courses, support for
schools and information on a broad range of environmental topics, for adults and children.
Our objective is to provide people with the knowledge and tools they need
to live sustainably.
Education at the Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre is very hands-on with
students spending time outdoors and in the education centre. Make sure you
check out the "What's on at Kaipatiki" page.
Adult Courses
The Kaipatiki Project runs regular adult education courses, activities and workshops for free or at minimal cost. We are happy to tailor-make courses on demand for groups. If you would
like to know more please read our lastest course calendar, email us at education@kaipatiki.org.nz, give the Education Centre a call on 482 1172, or visit us. Check out the dates and tutors for our Create Your Own Eden Composting and Worm Farming 2008 courses.

Schools
We provide a range of environmental programmes for school children and can tailor make sessions for primary, intermediate and high schools on environmental topics in line with the new curriculum. Our more popular topics are included on our brochure:
Read our 2008 School Programmes Environmental Education brochure to find out what we can do for your school.
We are currently developing a programme for Kindergartens.
All our programmes are interactive, hands-on sessions.
Programmes can be held at your school, the centre or an outdoors location (eg mangrove).
Cost is $2 per child (+gst and fuel). There is an alternative ecological payment option which can be discussed with the education coordinator.
To find out more, please contact Rosie Hutchinson on 482 1172 or email education@kaipatiki.org.nz.
