Insects
The study of insects is known as
"entomology".
Insects outnumber humans (and other animals) by millions to one.
Dave Clarke is the Kaipatiki
Project Environment Centre's resident entomologist, and has shown that there is
much more to insects than meets the eye in Kaipatiki.
There are more insects crawling
throughout Kaipatiki than all the other animals combined, and they are just
important as the larger animals in supporting the functioning of the forest
ecosystem.
