Kaipatiki Stream

The central focus for the Kaipatiki Reserve is the creek which runs through the middle of it.

Monitoring and improving the water quality of the Kaipatiki Catchment is one of the primary goals of the Kaipatiki Project. Monthly samples are taken and tested for pollutants, including work by University Researchers. By planting along the banks of the stream, and improving the water quality, a better aquatic ecosystem is available for invertebrates to live in. Overall this improves the life-sustaining qualities of the Kaipatiki Reserve.
