Volunteers
Volunteers are our life-blood.
Without you we can't achieve nearly as much as with your help.
You might feel you can't offer
enough time or energy to be of use - and that's not the case at all. If you can
offer one morning every now and again, that's more help to us than none at all.
Of course the more help the better! To find out about special volunteering events and opportunities go to the Kaipatiki Calendar of Courses and Projects.
For more information on all of these amazing volunteering opportunities please call 482 1172 or email restoration@kaipatiki.org.nz.
Nursery Working bees – every Monday and Thursday morning 9am – 12pm at Kaipatiki Environment Centre, 17 Lauderdale Road, Birkdale, North Shore.
Many hands make light work, come join the fun, make friends, meet like-minded people and give back to nature at the same time. No experience needed.
Professional help needed – we need your brains as well as your brawn!
Get your hands dirty if you must but there's heaps more to do behind the scenes especially if you have the following business and professional skills:
Data-lovers – administering the database of contacts, members and volunteers, helping to maintain statistical information about our activities.
Planners – helping us to plan, co-ordinate and run events.
Number-crunchers – assisting our team working on funding and sponsorship applications, gathering information, etc.
Marketeers & Web-spinners – working with our promotions staff on the website, e-newsletters, promotional brochures, leaflets and our half-year reviews.
Ed-heads & exhibitionists – putting together resources to be used with school children, creating displays for the Centre and info stands elsewhere.
Unforgettable Corporate & Group Volunteering in Witheford Reserve, Birkdale
From September to May each year Kaipatiki Project takes bookings from business groups wanting a corporate away-day or team-building experience with a difference. Our Centre, and the surrounding forest reserves we care for, is just a 20 minute drive from Auckland CBD, and we will gladly tailor your group's volunteering activities to your needs. Full or half-days available.
From May to August we take bookings from groups, clubs or businesses who wish to spend a day replanting Witheford Reserve with native plants grown in our own nursery.
There are other ways you can help
us too - if you have time to pop in and clean windows, mop the floor - general
housekeeping, it gives our restoration staff more time to do what they do best. We'd love someone to sew lovely big floor cushions for us too.
In short, if you want to give us some of your precious time, we would gratefully
accept it. Thank you.
Give us a call, or drop us an email
to find out more.
