Nature Journaling Workshop
Nature journaling is sketching or writing your response to nature. This fun and relaxing practice helps you connect more closely with plants, trees, birds and other natural things and results in creating your own unique nature journal. Once you start properly looking you'll be hooked.
Ideal for all ages, and all drawing abilities. Under 12s to be accompanied by a participating adult. Please note this is an outdoor event.

Please bring along:
- Notebook or journal - A5 size is ideal, plain paper or plain paper and clipboard
- HB Pencil
- Selection of pens, crayons, watercolours etc

Other useful things may be a magnifying glass, plastic ruler, a chair or a rug to sit on.
Cost: $20 Adult, $10 Child (5-12 years old)

About tutor - Lesley Alexander

Lesley Alexander is a botanical and natural history artist and has been President of the Botanical Art Society New Zealand inc since 2019.

Lesley is intrigued by and love painting the intricate details of plants and natural objects she finds. It's often the overlooked, non perfect, often past their prime specimens that draw her in. Through careful observation, drawing and painting she has learnt so much about the natural world around her and hope that you, the viewer will be drawn in to appreciate its complexity and beauty. 

Watercolour is her medium of choice, as the transparent quality of watercolour allows her to add many glazes which not only bring a richness and depth of colour to her work, but a softness too when needed.
