EcoFest Event: Restore Longmead Reserve with RHB

Event by: Restore Hibiscus and Bays

Get hands-on in the bush this EcoFest, with Restore Hibiscus and Bays.

Join the Longmead Working Group in Brown’s Bay

Several accessways means that Longmead Reserve is used as a shortcut, and a flat, walking and exercise area. The many mature trees are in danger of being overcome by climbing invasive weeds. Regular weeding every Wednesday is making a huge difference, and our cheerful group always welcomes newcomers. The recent planting has made a huge difference to several areas where weeding has taken place, and our long-term ecological planning for the site is starting to take shape. Come and see what a few people can do in a short space of time.

This is a great opportunity to meet other locals interested in restoring and protecting our local environment, and to learn more about native plant and animal species and how we care for and protect them.

WHERE: Meet in the grassed area in front of the carpark, which is opposite 44 Langana Avenue.

WHEN: This regular working bee is on every Wednesday. 10am – 11:30am
